Our Youth Group consists of 5th to 12th grade students. Our vision is to help them love and pursue the Lord from their youth. This will sanctify them, make them into a vessel of honor useful to the master, and equip them with the tools that will be a blessing to the church and society. Our desire is to serve them and inspire them to grow both in the divine life and the human life. We wish for them to become the shining testimony of Jesus Christ!
In addition to their Lord's Day meeting, the YP (Young People) meet bi-weekly to mingle, to eat dinner, to do activities, to sing songs, and to hear teachings in the homes of different members. During the Saturday YP meeting, the teachings focus on "patterns" and "characters". We studied how young Timothy learned from apostle Paul. Paul admonishes him to flee youthful lust, and pursue RIGHTEOUSNESS, FAITH, LOVE, PEACE with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. In addition Paul said, "Let no one despise your youth, but be a pattern to the believers in WORD, in CONDUCT, in LOVE, in FAITH, in PURITY". Starting September 2011, we'll study many characters and virtues in Colossians chapter 3 and 4.
Our YP are talented in music and play many music instruments. On the third Lord's Day of each month, the YP will play instruments to lead the singing and praising during worship. Adult serving ones coordinate the YP's rehearsals for this service.
Adult serving ones periodically visit YP(s) and their family. This home visit fills the gap between church meetings and school. In these visits we encourage and strengthen the YP's personal relationship with Jesus our Savior.
